Laudert, July 7, 2026 – Plantafood Medical GmbH, one of Germany's leading contract manufacturers of dietary supplements and complementary feed products, has acquired Hawlik BioImport GmbH. Through this acquisition, the company significantly expands its production capacity, procurement network and sales capabilities in a single strategic step.

The acquisition of Hawlik BioImport represents another important milestone in Plantafood Medical's growth strategy. By adding further production facilities, the company is strategically increasing its manufacturing capacity, particularly in capsule production. At the same time, its sales organization is being further strengthened through additional personnel and the implementation of advanced digital sales tools. The acquisition also creates significant synergies in procurement: larger purchasing volumes, direct access to international raw material markets and optimized sourcing structures generate economies of scale while enhancing supply security.

Site and Integration

Hawlik BioImport's former site near Augsburg will be fully integrated into Plantafood Medical's headquarter in Laudert. All production and business activities will be consolidated there and incorporated into the company's existing operational structure.

Hawlik BioImport has earned an excellent reputation within the industry, particularly for its premium vital mushrooms and botanical raw materials. Its well-established supplier network and long-standing business relationships complement Plantafood Medical's existing raw material and product portfolio while creating additional opportunities for future growth.

Within the expanded group, the strategic focus remains on capsules, tablets, and powder formulations, with particularly strong growth in product segments such as electrolyte powders, magnesium supplements, and formulations based on premium branded ingredients.

For customers, business partners, and suppliers, existing contacts will remain unchanged. Current points of contact have been retained, established business relationships will continue, and customers will benefit from an expanded service portfolio and enhanced security of supply.
